LYLAC in the media

What is coaching?

Coaching is a way of support to help you move forward to the life you really want to live. We see coaching as a journey and we'll start wherever you are now. We'll look at all the important areas of your life and help you to decide where you want to make changes. This will involve developing a clear picture of your future life. A coach will stretch you here to get this image crystal clear.

This video illustrates how one of our clients came to life coaching and in what way it helped her.
This client has achieved to create and record a solo album of songs, after thinking about it for many years. The cancer experience plus the LYLAC coaching programme created the opportunity to achieve this.

How can you create change for the better in your life?
The LYLAC Group Programme is helping you to review you cancer experiences, come to conclusions about them, create your peronal vision of the future, and consciously identify potential directions of change by making choices.
An action plan will implement this change.

The programme is based on "the cycle of change":
1. Awareness
2. Choice
3. Execution (action)

There is one golden rule as you'll go along the way: there is no failure, only learning. This will open a box of possibilities to try and experiment while implementing your plan.
For the process of change to go well, your vision of change needs to be based on your personal values. When this is the case you are fully emotionally committed to the change process and are able to gain support from within yourself and from your environment.

Your coach will guide you through the process, asking challenging questions and helping you to find the answers that will move you forward. You will be supported along the way but we won't advice you what to do, as we believe that you are the best person to decide what is right for you.

Coaching is no therapy or counselling
After an experience of cancer people take varying amounts of time to process what has happened to them. Sometimes therapy or counselling can be incredibly helpful. Where counselling may help resolve the past and/or your cancer experience, life coaching helps you resolve the future.
Life Coaching is different from therapy and counselling in several ways.
Firstly counselling is mainly focused on healing the past where you are "a patient" whereas life coaching is (re)designing your future where you partner-up with your coach and are seen as resourceful and whole (no need to "fix" anything).
Secondly, we will concentrate on what you can do (action oriented) to get you where you want to be to move you forward.
